Send love to Uganda by sponsoring a child to attend the school for a year for only $65.
There is limited free schooling in Uganda. Government schools are far apart and are poorly staffed, with up to 100 kids per class. For Mubaku Village, the nearest school requires the children to undertake an hour-long walk through an area with many baboons. Mubaku Village parents know that the baboons will attack their children as they walk to the government school, so the free school is not an option. So the people of Mubaku village decided to form their own school and came up with the fee structure in the chart below.
However, the villagers are mostly subsistence farmers and have very little income. Often parents send only one child from the family. Usually, the girls stay at home to help with home duties or get married as young as 13 or 14 years old. You can help these families by sponsoring a child for an entire school year for only $65.
The school leaders carefully select each sponsored child. The majority of sponsorships are given to girls whose parents can not afford to send a second child. There are still more children not attending school than attending due to the parents being unable to afford to send more than one child,
The costs for the villagers to send their child to attend Bright Future School are;

Other expenses are not every year, such as a PE uniform of 28,000 shillings and a graduation party cost of 10,000 shillings.
The orphans in the village were the first to get sponsored – they all attend the school at no cost to the foster family.
When a child is sponsored, we ask for $65, which is higher than the villagers’ school fee. The difference is used to provide other items to the sponsored child, like clothes, shoes, toothbrushes, sanitary supplies, and general school supplies for the entire school, such as paper, pencils, and pens.
Consider making a huge difference in a child’s life by sponsoring a year of schooling for just $65.
$65 per year sponsors a child’s educational expenses for one year, including books, uniform, teacher fees, and a hot lunch, plus some support to the general student population.
