Adding Running Water, Toilets, and Showers

The village has decided that its next priority is to install modern plumbing at the school and supply water facets for the village to fill their water containers.  There will be sinks and toilets at both the lower and upper campuses.  The Dorm will get showers!

The project is estimated at $36,000 USD.  As of July 1, 2026, $31,132 has been raised.

Funds raised so far!

Third Building Reverse Timeline:

June 2026:  Final water tower going up. The village water faucet is now open.

The water project isn’t finished, but it’s already making a difference for the village. Instead of using a hand pump to fill their water containers, they just put the container under the faucet, and it gets filled! They put the containers in a line to mark their places as they wait.

June 19, 2026: Villagers lining up their water containers to fill at the new water faucet.

June 19, 2026:  The line of containers represents villagers waiting their turn at the faucet.

June 19, 2026: The line is growing fast. The faucet fills the containers faster than the hand pump did.

The whole village helps when needed.

June 11, 2026:  The final water tower is put in place.

June 15:  Preparing the first water tank to be raised

Almost there!

Success!

May 28, 2026: The truck with supplies for the next tower is loaded in Kampala, but breaks down.  The supplies eventually arrived in Mubaku.

May 30, 2026:  The first water tower is being tested, and the people are excited to get water without having to use the manual pump.

March 2026:  More Water Tanks arrive, and Construction is paused

More materials arrive.  We are awaiting more contributions to continue the project.  One of the wells had to be dug deeper to reach clean water, which exceeded the budget by over $2,000. Due to more labor, bricks, cement, and a more powerful pump to raise the water further.
